Report : रिपोर्ट या विवरण या प्रतिवेदन रिपोर्ट लिखना, वास्तव में तथ्यों पर आधारित संक्षिप्त विवरण लिखना है जो कि किसी विशेष घटना अथवा अनुभव अथवा समस्या के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर प्रकाश डालती है। रिपोर्ट, आँखों देखी किसी घटना, अथवा समस्या अथवा अनुभव अथवा सभा अथवा वार्तालाप अथवा आयोजन अथवा जाँच व अनुसंधान के सम्बन्ध में हो सकती है।
A report is a real description or statement based on facts about something that has been heard or done by a person.
(ध्यातव्य बिन्दु)
- उद्देश्य – रिपोर्ट किस उद्देश्य से लिखी जा रही है – यह लेखक को स्पष्ट होना चाहिए। वह रिपोर्ट अखबारों में समाचार के रूप में प्रकाशन हेतु, किसी उद्योग अथवा व्यापार से सम्बन्धित अथवा किसी घटना अथवा जाँच के विषय में हो सकती है।
- संक्षिप्तता – रिपोर्ट संक्षेप में होनी चाहिए। लम्बी रिपोर्ट को अच्छा नहीं समझा जाता है।
- स्पष्टता – रिपोर्ट बिल्कुल स्पष्ट होनी चाहिए। इस प्रकार की भाषा, वाक्यों अथवा शब्दों का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए, जिनका अर्थ स्पष्ट न हो अथवा दो अथवा अधिक अर्थ निकलते हों।
- तथ्यात्मक – रिपोर्ट दिए हुए तथ्यों पर ही आधारित होनी चाहिए। अपनी ओर से काल्पनिक बातों का रिपोर्ट में समावेश नहीं होना चाहिए।
- सर्वप्रथम एक शीर्षक लिखें ।
- रिपोर्ट लिखना आरंभ करने से पूर्व उस स्थान का नाम लिखें जहाँ से रिपोर्ट कर रहे हैं। इसके पश्चात् कोमा लगाकर दिनांक लिखें। तत्पश्चात् रिपोर्ट लिखना आरंभ करें।

Kota : On December 24th at about noon two boys were returning from their school. One of them decided to swim and have fun in the local pond and the other sat down on the sands of the bank. The swimming boy seemed uncomfortable in water and soon began to beat his arms desperately. Moaning sounds were heard by the other boy. It appeared that the swimmer was drowning. The boy sitting on the bank was not a good swimmer but he jumped in water and somehow managed to reach his drowning friend. He pulled the drowning boy by his hair and arms and brought him out of the pond without fear of his own life. He has been recommended for bravery award on the Republic Day.

Dundlod, 10 May : The water supply system of Dundlod town is very poor. There are taps but water supply is not regular. There is no fixed time for water supply. People have to keep themselves cautious for the water supply. It may be supplied at any time. If the people are not careful, they may not get water. The pressure of water is very low. Sometimes it takes fifteen minutes to fill in a bucket. There is a heavy rush of ladies at the public-taps. Sometimes there are quarrels. If the people go to the M.L.A., he always assures that the water supply will be alright within ten to fifteen days. He will ask the Chief Minister to set the things right. But he does nothing for it.

Nayala, 16 August : India shattered the fetters of slavery on 15 August, 1947. It is a gala day. It is celebrated throughout the country on 15 August every year. It is a national festival. All the students, members of the staff and the Principal of Ambedkar school celebrated the Independence Day Function. Students stood in rows in front of the flag post. The Principal unfurled the national flag. All clapped again and again. The tri-colour was waving in air with pride. All sang the national anthem. So he killed himself. People were sad. After some time the train started.
