In this poem the poet appears in calm and satisfactory mood at the time of departure from this world. The poet has an optimistic view and going to see his creator beyond this endless ocean. It is the time of evening and the sun has set and the sky is full of stars. The setting of the sun is the symbol of the end of life but the appearance of the moon and its cool radiance introduces another sense of life and develops the sense of immortality.
The poet realises that his creator is calling him which is an obvious sign of optimistic sense of life. There is no sense of moaning or regretting in his heart. The poet notices the endless and bottomless ocean still and there is a layer of foam on the surface of the sea. It is an open invitation to the poet to go further. The foam appears in the form of flower carpet for the poet. The poet likes to worship his maker before his departure and there is no sense of ‘sorrow at the time of farewell from this world.
इस कविता में कवि इस संसार से जाते समय पूर्ण शान्त व संतुष्ट मनोदशा में प्रकट होता है। कवि आशावादी विचारधारा से भरा हुआ है और इस अनन्त महासागर के उस पार अपने निर्माता से मिलने जा रहा है। यह शाम का समय है। सूर्य अस्त हो चुका है तथा आकाश में तारे हैं। सूर्य का अस्त होना जीवन के अन्त का प्रतीक है। लेकिन चन्द्रमा की उपस्थिति और इसकी ठण्डी रोशनी जीवन के दूसरे पहलू से अवगत कराती है तथा अमरता के भाव विकसित करती है। कवि महसूस करता है कि उसका निर्माता उसे बुला रहा है जो कि जीवन में आशावाद का प्रतीक है।
उसके दिल में किसी प्रकार का दुःख एवं रोने का भाव नहीं है। कवि अनन्त व असीमित गहरे महासागर को शान्त देखता है तथा महासागर की सतह पर समुद्र झाग की एक परत है। यह कवि को आगे बढ़ने का स्पष्ट संकेत है। समुद्री झाग कवि को फूलों के एक गलीचे के रूप में दिखाई देता है जो समुद्र की सतह पर फैला हुआ है। कवि जाने से पहले अपने निर्माता की पूजा करना चाहता है तथा इस संसार से विदाई के समय कवि के दिल और दिमाग में कोई भी दुःख एवं पश्चात्ताप की भावना नहीं है।

On behalf of this poem the poet discusses about the theme of immortality of the soul in this mortal world. It is the way through which we can achieve the company of our maker. The poet says that the life and death are the natural course of nature so that the human being should not fear at the time of death because the death is the beginning of new life and the new life is better than the previous one.
