A Road Accident
The other day, I was going from Jaipur to Kota via Tonk by a Roadways Delux bus. I saw a jeep overloaded with passengers crossed the bus in which I was travelling. After a while, I saw that the jeep rammed into a truck. The bus-driver halted the bus near the accident site. I, with other passengers, alighted from the bus. What a heart-rending scene it was! The life had converted into dead bodies. Not a single was alive. Body organs were lying here and there. Hot blood was flowing. The road had become red with blood. The bus driver informed the nearby police station. The police immediately reached there. They registered the statements of the witnesses. After all formalities, the dead bodies were taken to Tonk for postmortem and then to hand over to the kinsmen. Thus, road accidents are dangerous.
एक सड़क दुर्घटना
एक दिन मैं जयपुर से कोटा, टोंक होते हुए, रोडवेज की डीलक्स बस से जा रहा था। मैंने देखा कि यात्रियों से भरी हुई एक जीप ने हमारी बस को ओवरटेक किया। कुछ समय उपरान्त, मैंने देखा कि जीप एक ट्रक को टक्कर मारती हुई उसमें घुस गई। हमारी बस के ड्राईवर ने बस को दुर्घटना-स्थल के पास रोका। मैं, अन्य यात्रियों के साथ, बस से नीचे उतरा। यह बड़ा ही हृदय विदारक दृश्य था। जीवन, लाशों में परिवर्तित हो चुका था। एक भी जीवित नहीं बचा था। शरीर के अंग इधर-उधर बिखरे पड़े थे। गर्म रक्त बह रहा था। सड़क रक्त से लाल हो गई थी। हमारी बस के चालक ने नजदीक के पुलिस थाने को सूचित किया। पुलिस तुरन्त वहाँ पहुँची। उन्होंने गवाहों के बयान दर्ज किये । सभी औपचारिकताओं के उपरान्त, शवों को शव परीक्षण के लिए टोंक लाया गया और उन्हें उनके रिश्तेदारों को सौंपने के लिए रखा गया। अतः सड़क दुर्घटनाएँ खतरनाक हैं।

Last Sunday I went for a picnic with my friends. While I was returning home, I saw a bus fell into a river. There was a narrow bridge over the river. A bus was coming fast. It was full of passengers. The driver lost the balance and the bus fell into the river. Some passengers were drowned in the river. All were crying for help them. Many villagers gathered there. They threw ropes into the river and pulled out the drowning passengers. Some boatmen also helped. We informed the police. After sometime some policemen, doctors and nurses came there. They gave first-aid to the injured passengers. Seriously injured persons were taken to hospital in the ambulance. The police arrested the bus driver. I cannot forget this bus accident in my life.
एक बस नदी में गिर गई
गत रविवार को मैं अपने मित्रों के साथ पिकनिक पर गया। जब मैं घर लौट रहा था तो मैंने देखा कि एक बस नदी में गिर गई। नदी के ऊपर एक संकरा पुल था। एक बस तेजी से आ रही थी । यह यात्रियों से भरी हुई थी। बस-चालक ने सन्तुलन खो दिया और बस नदी में गिर गई। कुछ यात्री डूब गये। सभी सहायता के लिए चिल्ला रहे थे। वहाँ अनेक ग्रामीण एकत्र हो गये। उन्होंने नदी में रस्सियाँ फेंकीं और डूबते हुए यात्रियों को खींच कर बाहर निकाला। कुछ नाविकों ने भी उनकी सहायता की। हमने पुलिस को सूचित किया। थोड़े समय के पश्चात् कुछ पुलिसमैन, डॉक्टर और नर्से वहाँ पर आई। उन्होंने घायलों का प्राथमिक उपचार किया । गम्भीर घायल व्यक्तियों को रोगी-वाहन द्वारा अस्पताल ले जाया गया। पुलिस ने बस-चालक को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। मैं इस बस-दुर्घटना को अपने जीवन में कभी नहीं भूल सकता।

A Train Accident
I was going to Delhi by a mail train. It was a dark and cold night. The train was running fast. Banskho is a very small station. A long goods train was standing there. The lines of the mail train was not changed. The result was a serious accident. The Mail train had run into the goods train. The engine and many bogies were over turned. Other bogies were derailed and fell down. Only the last two bogies were safe. Fortunately, I was in the last bogie. We came out. We thanked God. After sometime, some villagers came there. They informed the authorities. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Arrangements were made for the dead bodies. Alternate arrangements were made for the standed passengers. The railway authorities announced an exgratia help of 5 lac rupees to the nearest kin of the dead and free of cost treatment of the injured. Thus, it was a heart rending accident.
एक ट्रेन दुर्घटना
मैं मेल-ट्रेन से दिल्ली जा रहा था। यह अंधेरी एवं बहुत ठण्डी रात्रि थी। ट्रेन तेजी से जा रही थी। बांसखो एक छोटा-सा स्टेशन है। एक मालगाड़ी वहाँ पहले से खड़ी थी। मेल ट्रेन की पटरियों को बदला नहीं गया था। इसका परिणाम एक गंभीर दुर्घटना थी। मेल-ट्रेन उस मालगाड़ी में घुस गई अर्थात् जोर से टकरा गई। इसका इंजन व कई डिब्बे उल्टे हो गये। अन्य डिब्बे पटरी से उतर गये थे और नीचे गिर पड़े। केवल अन्तिम दो डिब्बे सुरक्षित रहे। सौभाग्य से मैं अन्तिम डिब्बे में था। हम बाहर आये । हमने ईश्वर को धन्यवाद दिया। थोड़े समय के बाद कुछ ग्रामीण भी वहाँ आ गये। ग्रामीणों ने अधिकारियों को सूचित किया। घायलों को नजदीकी अस्पताल ले जाया गया। शवों के लिए व्यवस्था की गई। असहाय यात्रियों के लिए वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था की गई। रेलवे प्राधिकारियों ने मृतक के परिजन को 5 लाख रुपये देने की व घायलों का इलाज निःशुल्क होने की घोषणा की। अतः यह एक हृदयविदारक दुर्घटना थी।

I cannot forget the fire accident that I witnessed last summer. I was sleeping on the roof of my house when suddenly I heard a loud noise. “Fire ! Fire!’ I woke up with a start and saw a house on fire at some distance. Soon I reached there. Many people were there. Flames were rising high. Smoke was there. Everyone was active. I ran to a telephone booth and telephoned to fire station. Some people were crying and some were running here and there. A man and his wife were weeping. There’ were cries and there was much noise. Some people were bringing water. They were throwing water on the fire. Some people were throwing sand on the fire. I also threw sand on fire. Then fire-brigade vehicles came and controlled the fire in two hours. We thanked God that no one lost his or her life.

मैंने गत गर्मियों में जो आग की दुर्घटना देखी, उसे मैं नहीं भूल सकता। मैं अपने मकान की छत पर सो रहा था तथा तभी अचानक मैंने आग! आग!’ का एक तेज शोर सुना। मैं तेजी से जाग गया और थोड़ी ही दूरी पर एक मकान में आग देखी। जल्दी ही मैं वहाँ पहुँचा। अनेक व्यक्ति वहाँ एकत्रित हो गये। आग की लंपटें ऊपर जा रही थीं। वहाँ धुआँ था। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति सक्रिय था। मैं एक टेलीफोन बूथ की ओर दौड़ा और अग्निशमन केन्द्र को फोन किया। कुछ व्यक्ति चिल्ला रहे थे और कुछ व्यक्ति इधर-उधर दौड़ रहे थे। एक आदमी और उसकी पत्नी रो रहे थे। वहाँ चिल्लाहट थी और बहुत अधिक शोर था। कुछ लोग पानी ला रहे थे। वे आग पर पानी फेंक रहे थे। कुछ लोग आग पर मिट्टी फेंक रहे थे। मैंने भी आग पर मिट्टी फेंकी। तब अग्निशमन वाहन (आग बुझाने वाली गाड़ियाँ) आ गए तथा आग पर दो घण्टे में नियन्त्रण पा लिया। हमने ईश्वर को धन्यवाद दिया कि किसी व्यक्ति की जीवन-हानि नहीं हुई।

How I Prevented A Train Accident
Last Sunday I was going to my village on foot. I was going along the railway lines. I saw that some stones were lying on the railway lines. The stones were heavy. I tried to remove them, but I could not. I saw that a train was coming at a long distance. I failed to understand what to do. By chance I was in a red shirt. I took off my shirt. I took my red-shirt in my hands and ran fast towards the train. The driver saw this. He applied brakes. The train was running fast but stopped about ten metres away from the stones. It saved the train from an accident. The driver, the guard and many passengers came to me. I was panting. They appreciated my act very much.
मैंने एक रेलगाड़ी की दुर्घटना कैसे रोकी
गत रविवार, मैं पैदल ही अपने गाँव जा रहा था। मैं रेलवे लाइन के सहारे जा रहा था। मैंने देखा कि कुछ पत्थर रेलवे लाइन पर रखे हुए थे। पत्थर भारी थे। मैंने, उन्हें हटाने का प्रयास किया किन्तु मैं नहीं हटा सका। मैंने देखा कि दूर से गाड़ी आ रही थी। मेरी समझ में नहीं आया कि क्या करूं। संयोग से मैं लाल शर्ट में था। मैंने शर्ट उतारी। मैंने लाल शर्ट अपने हाथ में ली और गाड़ी की तरफ तीव्र गति से दौड़ा। चालक ने इसे देखा। उसने ब्रेक लगाये। गाड़ी तीव्र गति से दौड़ रही थी किन्तु पत्थरों से 10 मीटर पहले ही रुक गई। इससे गाड़ी दुर्घटना से बच गई। चालक, गार्ड व बहुत सारे यात्री मेरे पास आये। मैं हाँफ रहा था। उन्होंने मेरे कार्य की बहुत प्रशंसा की।

Disaster Caused by Flood
Recently there had been devastating flood in our state. It caused a great loss of human lives, cattle heads, property and other wealth. Water was seen as if it were covering the whole earth. Water entered the houses and straw huts were totally wiped off. People took shelter wherever they could find a place. I live in a village. The whole village was dipped in water. Houses collapsed. Telegraph and telephone poles fell down. Some people had to take shelter on trees. People climbed the rooftops of their houses. People were faced with a difficult situation. Life was precious but the loss of cattle, goods and property was also very painful. After a couple of days water subsided. Articles brought by flood water lay scattered. The loss of life and property was great. Homeless people were given food, clothes and medicines. The government provided every possible help to the victims.
बाढ़ के कारण विनाश
हाल ही में हमारे राज्य में एक भयंकर विनाशकारी बाढ़ आई। इससे मनुष्यों, मवेशियों, सम्पत्ति तथा अन्य प्रकार के धन का भयंकर विनाश हुआ। पानी तो ऐसा दिखाई देता था मानो कि सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी जल से ढकी हुई थी। पानी घरों के अन्दर घुस गया और घास-फूस की झोंपड़ियाँ बहकर उनका पूरी तरह सफाया हो गया। लोगों को जहाँ कहीं स्थान मिला वहीं पर उन्होंने शरण ले ली। मैं एक गाँव में रहता हूँ। सम्पूर्ण गाँव पानी में डूब गया । मकान धराशायी हो गये। तार तथा टेलीफोन के खम्भे उखड़ कर गिर गये। कुछ लोगों को तो पेड़ों पर शरण लेनी पड़ी। लोग अपने घरों की छतों के ऊपर चढ़ गये। लोगों को एक कठिन स्थिति का सामना करना पड़ा। जीवन तो कीमती होता ही है परन्तु मवेशी, सामान तथा सम्पत्ति का नुकसान भी बहुत दुःखदायी था। दो दिनों के पश्चात् बाढ़ का पानी उतर गया। बाढ़ द्वारा बहाकर लाया गया सामान बिखरा हुआ पड़ा था। जीवन तथा सम्पत्ति का बहुत नुकसान हुआ। बेघर लोगों को भोजन, वस्त्र तथा दवाएँ दी गईं। सरकार ने पीड़ितों की सभी प्रकार से सहायता की।

A Bank Robbery
Last month, a robbery took place in a bank in Jaipur. I had gone there to deposit a cheque. A large number of customers were waiting at the windows and counters of the bank for getting things done. Suddenly, five people in kurtas and pyjamas, with pistols in their hands appeared from somewhere. Two of them stood at the gate after snatching the gun from the guard. One of them went to the manager’s table and threatened him not to make any movement or raise an alarm. Another went to the cashier’s counter and asked him to handover all the cash lying with him. The third one kept a watch on the customers. After collecting the cash, all the five jumped upon three motor-cycles kept ready for them by their companions outside the bank building. The police was informed after they had gone. It was a robbery involving a sum of 5 lac.

पिछले महीने, जयपुर के एक बैंक में एक डकैती हुई। मैं वहाँ एक चेक जमा कराने गया था। बहुत सारे ग्राहक खिड़कियों एवं पटलों पर अपने काम करवाने हेतु लम्बी कतारों में खड़े थे। अचानक पाँच व्यक्ति, जिन्होंने कुर्ते और पायजामे पहने रखे थे और हाथों में पिस्तौलें लिये हुए थे, कहीं से प्रकट हो गये। उनमें से दो लोग गार्ड से बन्दूक छीनने के बाद दरवाजे पर खड़े हो गये। एक व्यक्ति मैनेजर की टेबल पर पहुँचा और धमकी दी कि वह हिले-डुले नहीं और शोर ने मचाये एक अन्य व्यक्ति कैशियर के काउन्टर पर पहुँचा और उससे सारी नकदी सौंपने के लिए कहा। तीसरे व्यक्ति ने ग्राहकों पर निगाह रखी। नकद राशि इकट्ठा करने के बाद पाँचौं लोग तीन मोटर साइकिलों पर जा बैठे जिन्हें उनके साथी तैयार कर खड़े थे। पुलिस को उनके जाने के बाद सूचित किया गया। इस लूट में 5 लाख रुपयों की हानि हुई।

An Act of Terrorism in Rajasthan
Terrorism has spread its gored claws up to Rajasthan. The serial bomb blasts in Jaipur is the burning proof of an act of terrorism in Rajasthan. On the day of the serial bomb blast I was near the temple of ‘Shri Hanumanji Maharaj’ at Sanganeri Gate. Suddenly, there happened a powerful blast. People were panic-stricken. They started running for a safer place. I saw some dead bodies lying on the road. There was blood all around. For some moment, the atmosphere was smoky. I, too, was fearful. By God’s grace, I was at a little distance from the blast site. After some time the police reached there. The police personnel sent the wounded and the dead to the SMS hospital and cordoned off the area. I can’t forget this incident.
राजस्थान में आतंकवाद की एक घटना
आतंकवाद ने अपने खूनी पंजे राजस्थान तक फैला दिये हैं। जयपुर के श्रृंखलाबद्ध बम विस्फोट राजस्थान में आतंकवाद के ताजा उदाहरण हैं। श्रृंखलाबद्ध विस्फोट वाले दिन, मैं, सांगानेरी गेट स्थित श्री हनुमानजी महाराज के मंदिर के समीप ही था। अचानक, वहाँ एक शक्तिशाली विस्फोट हुआ। लोग भयभीत हो गए। उन्होंने सुरक्षित स्थान के लिए दौड़ना आरंभ कर दिया। मैंने कुछ शवों को सड़क पर पड़े देखा। चारों तरफ खून ही खुन था। कुछ क्षण के लिए वातावरण में धुआँ ही धुआँ था। मैं भी भयभीत था। ईश्वर की कृपा से मैं विस्फोट स्थल से कुछ ही दूरी पर था। कुछ समय पश्चात् पुलिस वहाँ पहुँची। पुलिस कार्मिकों ने घायलों व मृतकों को एस.एम.एस. अस्पताल पहुँचाया और उस क्षेत्र को घेर लिया। मैं इस घटना को नहीं भूल सकता।

Last year I faced a severe drought and famine. It seemed as if the God of Rain. had turned eyes from our area. There was scarcity of food for a long period in this region. I, too, faced that situation. One day, there was no flour in the house. I went out in search of a tree. Anyway, I found it at some distance. I carried an axe with me. I started removing its bark. It was very hard. My palms became red. Anyhow it was removed. I brought it at home and dried it. Then, it was hammered and ground. Then, dough was made from it. And then, chapaties were made. I had to eat its chapaties to remain alive. I cannot forget it.

गत वर्ष मैंने एक गंभीर सूखे व अकाल को सामना किया। ऐसा लगा जैसे वर्षा के देवता ने हमारे क्षेत्र से नजरें फेर ली हों। इस क्षेत्र में लम्बे समय से भोजन की कमी थी, मैंने भी इस स्थिति का सामना किया। एक दिन घर में बिल्कुल आटा नहीं था। मैं एक वृक्ष की तलाश में बाहर गया। कुछ दूरी पर यह मिल भी गया। मैं अपने साथ एक कुल्हाड़ी ले गया था। मैंने इसकी छाल हटाना आरंभ कर दिया। यह बहुत कठोर थी। मेरी हथेली लाल हो गई थी। कैसे भी, इसे हटाया गया। मैं, इसे घर लाया और सुखाया। फिर इसे कूटा गया और पीसा गया। फिर, इससे लोई बनाई गई। और फिर, रोटी बनाई गई। मुझे जीवित रहने के लिए इसकी रोटी खानी पड़ी। मैं इसे नहीं भूल सकता हूँ।

How I Helped My Playmate
We play evening games in our school regularly. One evening we were playing football. The other team scored a goal. We were trying hard to score a goal. Our playmate, Mukesh, was running very fast after the football. His leg slipped. He fell down and cried loudly with pain. He had hurt his arm. We stopped playing. I rubbed his arm. I took him to hospital on my motor-cycle. The doctor came. He examined him carefully. The doctor gave him a tablet. Then the doctor plastered his arm. The doctor said that his arm had been fractured. He also said that he would be all right in about two weeks. Then I went to the house of Mukesh, I informed them about Mukesh. They thanked me.

When I Caught A Thief
I am a student of Class XI. One day, I was sleeping in my room at night. Around 2 o’clock, I heard some noise in the master bedroom. Through the glass door, I saw a thief trying to open the door of the almirah. I thought for a moment. There was darkness everywhere. I had a black and thick blanket in my room. I took it in my hand. I quietly opened the emergency gate of my room and reached in the master bedroom. The thief’s attention was in opening the almirah. So, I got an opportunity to carry out my plan. I put the blanket over the thief and hurriedly closed the door. Then I informed the police. The police praised and awarded me.

The other day I was going to market for shopping. I had worn a chain around my neck. It was looking like a golden chain. I was on my old scooter. Suddenly, a biker started driving his bike parallel to my scooter. My brother who was sitting behind me became cautious. The boy sitting behind the biker suddenly stretched his hand and snatched my chain. In the meanwhile, my brother picked the chainsnatcher’s hand powerfully. The chain was in the chain-snatcher’s hand. But he jerked my brother’s hand and drove away. I can’t forget this incident.

I know Ram Lal. He lives near my house. He went to see his friend on a scooter. He lived in Janta Colony. He was going on Gandhi Road. It is a busy road. Cars, tongas, scooters, cycles etc. were coming and going. Everyone seemed in a hurry. There were some traffic policemen to control the traffic. People were also coming and going on foot. As per road rule, Ram Lal was to his left. There was a restaurant on the right-hand side. He was going there. Now he was on wrong side. A traffic policeman came to him and caught him. He harassed the old man. The old man had to pay penalty for this. The policeman let him go. Though he did mistake unknowingly yet he had to pay for it.

Last month my elder brother fell seriously ill. My parents were out of station, So I took him to Soni Hospital, Jaipur. I consulted the doctor. After listening to me patiently and examining my brother he asked me whether I should admit the patient. Admission seemed to be the first and the last option for me so I opted for this. Soon they began giving him treatment. My brother needed a lot of blood. I managed it from blood-bank. They began transfusing blood into the patient. The doctor was amazingly supportive and encouraging. After some days my brother recovered. I cannot forget this incident.

When I Lost My Scooter
Last Sunday I visited the Albert Hall. I parked my scooter outside the museum. First of all I saw works of art, craft, jewellery, earthen pots, pottery and metal wares. Then I saw coins of various kings and ages and flags of different nations of the world. In another corner I saw various swords and other weapons. In the art gallery, I saw. dresses and robes used by the past kings and queens, it took almost two hours. After visiting the museum I came out. I was shocked to see that my scooter was not there. Somebody had stolen my scooter. I became extremely upset but what could I do. I just went to the police station and lodged the complaint of my scooter. The policemen assured-me that they will search the thief anyhow.
