Metaphor:
Metaphor is a figure of speech which makes an implicit, implied or hidden comparison between two things that are unrelated but have some common characteristic.
For example:
(i) Camel is the ship of the desert
(ii) Life is a journey
रूपक:
रूपक एक अलंकार है जो अप्रत्यक्ष, सांकेतिक या छिपे हुए रूप में तुलना करता है उन दो वस्तुओं के बीच जो एक-दूसरे से असम्बद्ध हैं लेकिन उनमें कोई समान विशेषता होती है।
उदाहरण:
(i) ऊँट रेगिस्तान का जहाज है।
(ii) जीवन एक यात्रा है। यह तुलना उपमा में की गई तुलना से भिन्न है।
अतएव हम ‘like’ या ‘as’ का प्रयोग नहीं करते। Metaphor एक प्रत्यक्ष तुलना नहीं है। ‘Hope is the creation of soul’ (आशा आत्मा की उत्पत्ति है) राजन अग्रवाल की कविता से इसका यह श्रेष्ठ उदाहरण है।
Conceit:
