The pond started to dry because there was no rain.

जब सारसे कछुए को बड़ी झील पर ले जा रही थीं, उन्होंने उसे क्या सलाह दी?
Answer.
When the cranes took tortoise to the big lake, they advised him to keep his mouth shut while flying.
जब सारसे कछुए को बड़ी झील पर ले जा रही थीं, उन्होंने उसे उड़ते समय मुँह बन्द रखने की सलाह दी।

Question 1.
Look at the sentences given below from the text and understand their meanings.
नीचे दिए गए मूल पाठ के वाक्यों को देखिए तथा उनके अर्थ को समझें।
1. We will die of starvation.
2. That foolish tortoise will certainly fall off.
3. I shall not do such a foolish thing.
In the above sentences will/shall has been used to say about the action which will happen in future time. We can talk about future time activity using will/shall. Generally shall is used with ‘T’ or ‘We’ and will with other persons like ‘you’, ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, ‘they’ and names. In moderm English ‘will’ is used very largely.

उपरोक्त वाक्यों में will/shall का प्रयोग भविष्य में घटित होने वाले कार्यों को दर्शाने के लिए किया गया है। हम भविष्य की गतिविधि के बारे में बात करने के लिए will/shall का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं। सामान्यतया shall का प्रयोग कर्ता I या We होने पर तथा दूसरे कर्ता जैसे you, he, she, it, they और कोई नाम होने पर will का प्रयोग करते हैं। आधुनिक अंग्रेजी में will का प्रयोग बहुतायत से किया जाता है।
