(i) Heroism of Indian Women
From the very beginning of Indian History women have become prominent in various fields. Here are some examples Razia Sultan became the only woman monarch to have ever ruled Delhi. The Gonda Queen Durgavati ruled for 15 years before losing her life in a battle with Mughals. Jahangir’s wife Nur Jahan effectively ruled and was recognised as the real power behind the Mughal throne. Padmini was the queen of Rana Ratan Singh. She and other Rajput women jumped into a lit funeral pyre which is called Jauhar. Rani Lxami Bai (Queen of Jhansi) led the Indian Rebellion 1857 and fought bravely with the British.

भारतीय इतिहास के आरम्भ से ही महिलाएँ कई क्षेत्रों में प्रसिद्ध हुई हैं। यहाँ कुछ उदाहरण दिये हैंदिल्ली पर कभी शासन करने वाली महिला शासक सिर्फ रजिया सुल्तान थी। गोंडा की रानी दुर्गावती ने मुगलों के साथ लड़ते हुए प्राण गॅवाने से पूर्व 15 वर्ष तक शासन किया। जहाँगीर की पत्नी नूरजहाँ ने प्रभावी तरीके से शासन किया और वह मुगल सिंहासन के पीछे वास्तविक शासन चलाने के लिये जानी जाती थी। पमिनी राणा रतन सिंह की पत्नी थी। वह तथा अन्य राजपूत महिलाएँ अपनी प्रतिष्ठा बचाने के लिये जलती आग में कूद कर मर गईं। झाँसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई ने 1857 में भारतीय गदर का नेतृत्व किया और अंग्रेजों के साथ बहादुरी से लड़ी।

(ii) The heroes of Mewar
(1) Maharana Kumbha :
He ruled Mewar for 35 years. It was called the era of the golden period of Mewar. He was a powerful man who never lost any battle. Fort of Kumbhalgarh, Victory Tower in Chittorgarh were built during his reign.

(2) Maharana Sanagram Singh II :
He was popularly known as Rana Sanga. He fought for his kingdom till the last drop of his blood.

(3) Maharana Udaisingh II :
He was the son of Rana Sanga, founder of Udaipur. He became the proud father of Maharana Pratap who marked Rajputana history with his heroism and courage.

(4) Maharana Pratap :
He is said to be a man of strong character. He fought the famous Battle of Haldighati against the Mughals. Chetak was his trusted horse.

(1) महाराणा कुम्भा :
उन्होंने मेवाड़ पर 35 वर्ष शासन किया। यह मेवाड़ का स्वर्णिम युग कहा जाता था। वे एक शक्तिशाली योद्धा थे, जिन्होंने कभी कोई लड़ाई नहीं हारी। कुम्भलगढ़ का किला, चित्तौड़गढ़ का विजय स्तम्भ आदि उनके ही। राज्यकाल में बनवाए गये।

(2) महाराणा संग्राम सिंह II :
वह राणा संग्राम के नाम से लोकप्रिय थे। वे अपने लहू की अन्तिम बूंद तक युद्ध करते रहे।

(3) महाराणा उदयसिंह द्वि II :
वे उदयपुर के संस्थापक राणा साँगा के पुत्र थे। वह महाराणा प्रताप के गौरवशाली पिता बने जिन्होंने अपनी वीरता और साहस से राजपुताना इतिहास को चिह्नित किया।

(4) महाराणा प्रताप :
ऐसा माना जाता है कि वे दृढ़ चरित्र वाले व्यक्ति थे। उन्होंने मुगलों के विरुद्ध हल्दीघाटी का। प्रसिद्ध युद्ध लड़ा। चेतक उनका विश्वसनीय घोड़ा था।

(iii) Loyalty of Bhama Shah
Bhama Shah was born in 1542. He was a great adviser and minister of Mewar. He was also friend of Maharana Pratap from his childhood. Bhamashah was known for his war skills, patriotism and generosity. After the battle of Haldighati, when Maharana Pratap had no resources at all to carry on fight, Bhama Shah presented his wealth consisiting of 20,000 gold coins and 25 lakh rupees to Pratap who was overwhelmed. With this help Pratap could re-organize an army and carried on his further fights against Mughals.

भामाशाह 1542 में पैदा हुए थे। वे मेवाड़ के एक महान सलाहकार और मंत्री थे। वे बचपन से महाराणा प्रताप के मित्र भी थे। भामाशाह अपने राजनीतिक ज्ञान, युद्धकौशल, देशभक्ति और उदारता के लिए जाने जाते हैं। हल्दीघाटी युद्ध के बाद, जब महाराणा प्रताप के पास युद्ध के लिये कुछ नहीं बचा उस समय भामाशाह ने अपनी सम्पत्ति से 20,000 स्वर्ण मुद्रायें तथा 25 लाख रुपये प्रताप को उपहारस्वरूप दिये जिससे महाराणा प्रताप अभिभूत हो गये। इस सहायता से महाराणा प्रताप एक सेना का पुनः निर्माण कर सके और उन्होंने मुगलों के विरुद्ध और लड़ाइयाँ लड़ीं।

Prince Vikramajit, an unworthy ruler, was already unpopular in Mewar. The high spirited and brave men of Mewar could not tolerate his cruely, insolence and injustice. They murdered him. Banbir, the son of Rana Sanga’s brother, Prithviraj, was then chosen to rule during the minority of ‘Prince, Udai Singh’. He was both ambitious and cunning. He wanted the throne, so he decided to kill Udai Singh. He was neither noble nor kind. He awaited the approach of night to kill the child (Udai Singh).
