(i) 50,0000 = 5.0 x 100000 = 5.0 x 10⁵
(ii) 48,30,000 = 4.83 x 1000000 = 4.83 x 10⁶
(iii) 3,94,00,00,00,000
= 3.94 x 100000000000
= 3.94 x 10¹¹
(iv) 30000000 = 3.0 x 10000000 = 3.0 x 10⁷
(v) 180000 = 1.8 x 100000 = 1.8 x 10⁵

Question 2
Distance of the sun from the (RBSESolutions.com) earth is approximately 15,00,00,00 km. Express this distance in scientific notations.
Solution:
Distance of earth from sun = 15,00,00,000 km
∴ Scientific expression = 1.5 x 100000000 km
= 1.5 x 10⁸ km

Question 3
A person gets 3000 calorie energy from his daily meal. Represent (RBSESolutions.com) in scientific notations, how much energy he will get in one year.
Solution:
Calories received daily = 3000 calories
∴ Calories received during 365 days = 3000 x 365 calories
=1095000 calories
∴ Scientific expression = 1.095 x 10⁶ calories.

According to an estimation, Indian railways (RBSESolutions.com) transports approximately 1 crore 30 lakhs people from one place to another daily. How many people travel by train in 30 days ? Write your answer in standard form.
Solution:
∵ Number of passengers travel in 1 day = 1 crore 30 lac = 1,30,00,000
∴ Number of passengers travels in 30 days = 30 x 1,30,00,000
= 390000000 = 3.9 x 10⁸

(iv) 4.50 x (10)^-5
Solution:
(i) 2.5 x (10)⁴ = 2.5 x 10 x 10³
= 25 x 1000 = 25000

(ii) 1.75 x (10)⁶ = 1.75 x 10 x 10 x 10⁴
= 175 x 10⁴ = 175 x 10000
= 1750000

(iii) 1.21 x (10)^-8 = 1.21 x 10^-1 x 10^-7
= 0.121 x 10^-7
= 0.0000000121

(iv) 4.50 x (10)^-5 = 4.50 x 10^-1 x 10^-4
= 0.45 x 10^-4 = 0.000045
