Explanation:
उपर्युक्त सभी examples में adjectives, nouns के बारे मे additional information (अतिरिक्त सूचना) दे राहे है, जैसे कैसी girl? उत्तर है—bold, कैसा boy? उत्तर है—brave, अत: adjective वे शब्द होते हैं जो nouns के बारे में additional information दे ते हैं प्रत्य क adjective, three degrees (तीन रूपेँ) – Positive, Comparative, Superlative में होता है

(i) Positive Degree एक original adjective (मूल विशेषण) होता है Positive degree के प्रयोग से दो व्यक्त्यों या वस्तुवओं के बिच तुलना (comparison) को as/so…….as के द्वारा दर्शया जाता है, जैसे-

(नकारात्मक विक्य में प्राय so…..as का प्रयोग होता है)

(ii) Comparative Degree
तब बनती है जब हम Positive Degree में –er जोड़ते हैं या इसके (Positive Degree के) पहले more लगाते हैं तथा इसके बाद than का प्रयोग करते हैं, जैसे-

(iii) Superlative Degree सबसे अधिक ……… को व्यक्त करती है। इसका निर्माण Positive Degree के पीछे जोड़कर या उसके आगे most लगाकर किया जाता है। जब Positive Degree अर्थात् Adjective, one Syllable (एक vowel sound) वाला हो या two syllables (दो vowel sounds) वाले (अधिकांशतः) हों तो most से Superlative बनाएँ। More than two syllables (दो से अधिक vowel sounds) वाले Adjective से पूर्व most लगाकर Superlative बनाएँ जैसा कि ऊपर शब्द संख्या 6 में किया गया है।

3. Formation of Superlative Degree
1. एक syllable वाले अधिकांश adjectives तथा दो syllables वाले अधिकांश adjectives को most लगाकर superlative बनाया जाता हैं।

2. जब Positive Degree के अन्त में ‘C’ आता है तो केवल ‘-st’ लगाकर ही superlative बनाएँ।

3. जब Positive Degree के अन्त में ‘y’ आता है। तथा y से पूर्व consonant (व्यंजन) होता है तब y को ” में परिवर्तित कर व ‘-est’ लगाकर superative बनाते हैं।

4. एक syllable वाले adjective का अन्तिम अक्षर ‘एक ही consonant’ हो व इसके पूर्व sliort vowel sound हो तो superlative बनाने के लिए est जोड़ने से पूर्व इस अंतिम अक्षर को double कर देते हैं।

5. दो syllables से अधिक वाले adjectives के आगे most लगाकर superlative बनाते हैं।

6, दो syllables वाले adjectives जो ful, less, ing, ed से समाम्प्त होते है तथ इसी प्रकार अन्य को भी adjective से पहले most लगाकर superlative बना है

7. कुछ adjectives के अन्त में -est लगाकर अथवा इनके पहले most लगाकर दोनों ही तरीको से superlative बना सकते है

8. कुछ adjectives को irregular comparison कहते है क्योंकि इनकी comparative व superlative forms, positive form of से नहीं बनती है

Interchange of Degrees of Comparison (तुलना वाली इकाइयों का आपसी परिवर्तन)
1. Positive Degree Comparative Degree में परिवर्तन करने के लिए Positive Degree में -er जोड़ दें [यदि positive degree, one syllable adjective (एक स्वर ध्वनि विशेषण हो)], या Positive Degree से पहले प्रायः fmore का प्रयोग कर लिख दें [यदि positive degree, two or more syllable adjective (प्राय: दो था अधिक स्वर ध्वनि विशेषण हो)],
