An auto-rikshaw fare starts at ₹25 and remains the same for the initial 2 km. Then it increases Class 9

Question 1.

An auto-rikshaw fare starts at ₹25 and remains the same for the initial 2 km. Then it increases by ₹15 per km. Class 9

For how many km will the fare be ₹130?

Answer:

Total fare for travel of n km

= 25 + 15(n - 2)

= 25 + 15n - 30

= ₹ (15n - 5)

Now, travel fare = ₹ 130

∴ 15n - 5 = 130

∴ 15n = 130 + 5 = 135

∴ n = [latex]\frac{135}{15}[/latex] = 9

∴ The fare will be ₹130 for a travel of 9 km.
