Draw ∆ABC with AB = 5 cm, ∠A = 100°, ∠C = 4 cm. Draw the circumcircle of ∆ABC. Class 9

Question 1.

Draw ∆ABC with AB = 5 cm, ∠A = 100°, ∠C = 4 cm. Draw the circumcircle of ∆ABC. Is the centre inside or outside the triangle? Class 9

Solution:

Steps of Construction:

i. Draw ∆ABC as per the given measurement.

ii. Draw perpendicular bisectors of sides AB and AC.

iii. Name the point of intersection of perpendicular bisectors as O.

iv. With O as centre and radius equal to OA draw a circle.

Question 2.

Draw ∆ABC, with AB = 6 cm, BC = 7 cm and CA = 7 cm. Draw the circumcircle of ∆ABC. Let the circumcentre be O. Measure OA, OB, OC. Class 9

Solution:

Steps of Construction:

i. Draw ∆ABC as per the given measurement.

ii. Draw perpendicular bisectors of sides AC and BC.

iii. Name the point of intersection of perpendicular bisectors as O.

iv. With O as centre and radius equal to OA draw a circle.

Here, OA = OB = OC ≈ 3.9 cm
