Solution:
Initial amount = ₹ 800
Monthly savings = ₹ 250
Let the number of months be t.
Total amount after t months
= Initial amount + (Monthly savings × t)
∴ Total amount after t months = 800 +(250 × t)
∴ The linear pattern representing the total amount after t months is, 800 + 250t
Number of months (t) = 6
Substituting t = 6 in 800 + 250t, we get
Total amount after 6 months = 800 + (250 × 6)
= 800 + 1500
= 2300
∴ The amount after 6 months is ₹ 2300
Number of months (t) = 2 × 12 = 24 months
Substituting t = 24 in 800 + 250t, we get
Total amount after 24 months = 800 + (250 × 24)
= 800 + 6000
= 6800
∴ The amount after 2 years is ₹ 6800
