Playing with Constructions Class 6 Long Question Answer
Question 1.
Draw a rectangle of one side length 6.6 cm and then divide it into three identical squares. What is the side length of each square ?
Solution:
Note : Do as directed, following the usual method. See figure. Side length of each square is [latex]\frac{6.6}{3}[/latex]= 2.2 cm. (See Question of Page 94, Textbook Page 201)

Question 2.
Draw a rectangle of length 12 cm and breadth 5 cm. Then, draw a square in the middle of this rectangle. Also, find the distance between corners of the square and the outer rectangle.
Solution:
Note : Do as directed, following the usual method. See figure.

Distance between corners of the square and the outer rectangle AP = BQ
= [latex]\frac{12-5}{2}[/latex] = [latex]\frac{7}{2}[/latex] (Since PQ = RS = 5 cm)
= 3.5 cm.
