Suppose the length of a rectangular box is 7 cm and breadth is 11 cm. Find the volume if the height Class 9
Question 1.
Suppose the length of a rectangular box is 7 cm and breadth is 11 cm. Find the volume if the height is (i) 5 cm, (ii) 9 cm, (iii) 13 cm. Find the linear pattern representing the volume of the rectangular box. Class 9
Solution:
Length of the rectangular box = 7 cm
Breadth of the rectangular box = 11 cm
Let the height of the rectangular box be h cm
| Height (h cm) | Volume of rectangular box = Length × Breadth × Height |
| 5 | 7 × 11 × 5 = 385 cm3 |
| 9 | 7 × 11 × 9 = 693 cm3 |
| 13 | 7 × 11 × 13 = 1001 cm3 |
From the table, we observe that for every 4 cm increase in height, the volume increases by 308 cm³.
∴ The linear pattern representing the volume of the rectangular box is, 7 × 11 × h = 77h.
