→ The population of Rajasthan is 6.85 crore, which is around 5.7% of the total population of India.

→ The population density of Rajasthan is 200 persons per Sq. km.

→ The second biggest feature of the state is that about 61% part of its land is desert.

→ From the point of view of Relative Development Index of infrastructure, Rajasthan stands at 14th position.

→ By the end of December 2014, the estimated length of roads per 100 sq. km area in Rajasthan is expected to be 59.90 km.

→ In the end of 2013, the length of railway tracks in the state was 5871.65 km, in which 4801.18 km was broad gauge, 982.71 km was meter gauge and 86.76 km was narrow gauge.

→ The percentage of literacy in the state was 66.1%, for males it was 79.2% and for females it was 52.1%.

→ Rajasthan is an agriculture based state where 70% of the population is dependent upon farming.
