Activity 12.6 Let us explore to observe bryophytes and compare them with the leave. Class 9
Activity 12.6 Let us explore
Aim: To observe bryophytes and compare them with the leaves of common plants.
Observation: Bryophytes are small, green and soft plants. They do not have true roots, stems, or leaves. Their leaf-like structures are simple and thin, unlike normal plant leaves. They lack vascular tissues (xylem and phloem).
Conclusion: Bryophytes are simple, non vasular, plants that differ from normal plant leaves in structure and complexity. They require water for reproduction, so thay are called "amphibians of the plant kingdom". They show an early stage in the evolution of plants from water to land.
