Activity 6.4 Let us experiment (Demonstration activity)
Aim: To see the relation been mass and acceleration for a given force
Procedure: Increase the mass of cardboard cart in Activity 3 and note the time taken T2 by cart to reach the end of table. When the mass of cart is increased keeping the mass of cup same, the acceleration decreased.
Conclusion: For a given magnitude of force, the acceleration is inversely related to the mass of an object.
Question 1.
Earth and fruit apply equal and opposite gravitational forces on each other. Then why does fruit move towards Earth while Earth does not seem to move towards fruit? Class 9
Answer:
Force acting on Earth and fruit are equal in magnitude. Mass of Earth is very large than fruit. Therefore,
acceleration of Earth by force is very small because a = [latex]\frac{\mathrm{F}}{\mathrm{~m}}[/latex] and cannot be noticed.

When 0.1 kg bullet is fired from 5 kg gun with force of 2 N, the gun recoils. What are the initial accelerations of the bullet and gun? Class 9
Answer:
