Aim: To study the relationship between the height from which the ball is dropped and the depth of depression it creates in sand.

Observation: When the ball is dropped from a height of 1 m it creates depression in the sand. When dropped at 2 m, depression is deeper than 1 m.

Conclusion: Raising the ball to greater height from requires more work. Thus, ball has more energy at more height. When ball is released, this PE converts to KE creating a deeper depression. Greater the height of ball above Earth's surface, greater is its potential energy
