→ Only humans utilize natural resources.
→ Natural resources provide facilities only for economic development, while the human resource achieves maximum production with their utilization.
→ Human resource is both means and end of production and is more significant as compared to natural resources.
→ For rapid economic development of a country’s economy, contribution of human resources is important along with physical resources.
→ Human resources is the social basic infrastructure of the economy.
→ Human has used his ability to collect knowledge and its spread via conversations, folk songs and statements.
→ A person who helps in developing his nation along with his own development is known as Human Resource or human development.
→ Apart from the government, social background, good educational institutions, training centres and health facilities play a very important role in overall human development.
→ Population is the main basis of development.
→ Population significantly affects the various indicators of economic development.
→ Size of human resource is considered as a symbol of power.
→ Necessary labour force required for the economy comes from the population.
→ Human resource increases the productivity of inactive physical resources by optimum utilization.
→ Human Resource has two aspects:
- Quantitative aspect
- Qualitative aspect.
→ In Quantitative aspect, size and growth of the population, population density and Urban and Rural population in Rajasthan is included.
→ In Qualitative aspect, education and literacy, health and housing is included.
→ In 110 years, from 1901 to 2001, Rajasthan’s population has increased from 1.03 crore to 6.85 crore.
→ At present, India’s population is 121.06 crores and Rajasthan’s population is 6.85 crore.
→ Population growth rate of Rajasthan has been higher than the population growth rate of India.
→ Population in Rajasthan has been the highest in Jaipur and the lowest in Jaisalmer.
→ Highest population growth was 32.5 percent in Barmer and lowest was 10 percent in Ganganagar.
→ As per the economic survey of 2014-15, the birth rate per 1000 in 2012 was 25.9, and on all
India level, it was 21.6.
→ Birth rate is calculated by dividing the number of live infants in a particular year by the total population and then multiplying the result by 100 to get the percentage figure or by one thousand to get per thousand figure.
Birth Rate = B/P* 100 or 1000
where B = births taken place in a year
P = total population of the year
In this way, the Death rate can also be calculated –
Death Rate = D/P* 100 or 1000 Where
D = deaths taking place in an year
P= total population of the year
→ According to the 2011 census, the population density of Rajasthan was calculated at 200 persons per sq. km.
→ India’s population density has been 382 persons per sq.km.
→ Highest population density is 1106 in Bihar and lowest is 17 in Arunachal Pradesh.
→ According to the 2011 census, about 75.13 percent of the total population of Rajasthan resides in rural areas, and the remaining population resides in urban areas.
→ As per 2011 census, the sex-ratio in Rajasthan was 928 and for India it was 943.
→ Age group of 0-6 is considered as child sex-ratio.
→ According to the 2011 census, the total literacy rate of Rajasthan is 66.10 percent. The male literacy rate is 79.20 percent while the female literacy rate is 52.10 percent.
→ Maximum literacy rate in Rajasthan is in Kota (76.6%), while minimum literacy rate in Rajasthan is in Jalore (54.9%).
→ A programme named “Education For All” is being run to educate children in the age group of 6-14.
→ Right to free and compulsory education has been enforced in the state under the Right to Education Act of2009 since 1st April 2010.
→ With the objective of making Net Enrollment Ratio as 100 percent till 2017 and Stability Rate as 100 percent till 2020, National Secondary Education Mission (NSEM) plan is being run.
→ Chief Minister Free Medicine plan was enforced on 2nd October 2011.
→ Rajiv Housing Scheme was initiated in two phases in June 2011.
