Find the values of:

(a) (32 × (- 18)) ÷ ((- 36))

Solution:

(32 × (- 18)) ÷ ((- 36))

= [latex]\frac{-32 \times 18}{-36}[/latex] = 16.

(b) (32) + ((- 36) × (- 18))

Solution:

(32) + ((- 36) × (- 18))

= 32 × [latex]\frac{1}{-36}[/latex] × (- 18)

= 32 × [latex]\frac {1}{2}[/latex] = 16.

(c) (25 × (- 12)) ÷ ((45) × (- 27))

Solution:

(25 × (- 12)) ÷ ((45) × ( 27))

= 25 × (- 12) ÷ (45) × (- 27)

= 25 × (- 12) ÷ (-45 × 27)

= [latex]\frac{25 \times(-12)}{-45 \times 27}[/latex] = [latex]\frac{5 \times 4}{9 \times 9}[/latex] = [latex]\frac{20}{81}[/latex]

(d) (280 × (- 7)) ÷ ((- 8) × (- 35))

Solution:

(d) 280 × (- 7)) ÷ ((- 8) × (- 35))

=: 280 × (- 7) ÷ (8 × 35)

= [latex]\frac{280 \times(-7)}{8 \times 35}[/latex] = -7

Arrange the expressions given below in increasing order. Class 7
