Solution:

= 27 + 11 = 38.

(c) 40 - 10 + 10 + 10

Solution:

40 - 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 + 10 + 10

= 40 + 10 = 50.

(d) 48 - 10 × 2 + 16 ÷ 2

Solution:

48 - 10 × 2 + 16 ÷ 2 = 48 - 20 + 8

= 28 + 8 = 36.

(e) 6 × 3 - 4 × 8 × 5

Solution:

6 × 3 - 4 × 8 × 5 = 18 - 32 × 5 .

= 18 - 160 = - 142.
