Geometric Twins Class 7 Assertion and Reason Questions

Geometric Twins Class 7 Assertion and Reason Questions

In each of the following questions, two statements have been given. One has been labelled as Assertion (A) and the other has been labelled as Reason (R). You have to choose the correct option, from the given four options.

(a) Both the statements (A) and (R) are correct and (R) is the correct explanation of (A).

(b) Both the statements (A) and (R) are correct but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).

(c) (A) is correct but (R) is not correct,

(d) (R) is correct but (A) is not correct.

1. (A): In the figure, ∆ABC is congruent to ∆PQR.

(R): If two sides and the included angles of two triangles are equal, then the two triangles are congruent to each other.

Answer:

(a) Both the statements (A) and (R) are correct and (R) is the correct explanation of (A).

2. (A): If ∆ABC ≅ ∆DFE, then AB = DE.

(R): Corresponding parts of congruent triangles are equal.

Answer:

(d) (R) is correct but (A) is not correct.

3. (A): In the above figure, if O is the mid¬point of AC and BD, then ∠2 = ∠3.

(R): Triangles AOB and COD are congruent by ASA congruence rule.

Answer:

(d) (R) is correct but (A) is not correct.

4. (A): The two triangles ADC and ABC in the figure are congruent.

(R): If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are respectively equal to two sides and the included angle of the other triangle, then the two triangles are congruent.

Answer:

(b) Both the statements (A) and (R) are correct but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).

5. (A): In the figure, ∆ABC ≅ ∆RPQ.

(R): The two triangles are congruent by RHS congruence rule.

Answer:

(c) (A) is correct but (R) is not correct,
