Question 1.
Make conjectures by examining if there are any patterns or relations between the parity of a number Class 8
(i) the parity of a number and its digital root.
(ii) the digital root of a number and the remainder obtained when the number is divided by 3 or 9.
Solution:
(i) There is no relation between parity of a number and its digital root.
(ii) When a number is divided by 3, then the remainder is equal to the remainder when the digital root of the number is divided by 3.
When the number is divided by 9, then the remainder is the same as the digital root. That is, remainder is equal to the digital root.
