Well, if percentages are just a particular type of fraction, why do we need them? Why can’t we just continue using fractions? Class 8

Solution:

It is easier to compare fractions with same denominator. We can choose any number as common denominator for this purpose. Mostly this is choosen as 100, and that is why percentages are used.
