Question 1.

Write an example for each of the below scenarios whenever possible. Class 6

Could you find examples for all the cases? If not, think and discuss what could be the reason. Make other such questions and challenge your classmates.

Solution:

(a) 63,250 + 29,525 = 92,775. This sum is more than 90,250.

(b) 99997 + 107 = 100104. It is a 6-digit sum.

(c) Largest 4-digit number is 9999. Now, 99999999 19,998. So, we can never get a 6-digit sum here.

(d) 78923 + 42876 = 1,21,799. It is a 6-digit sum.

(e) Least 5-digit number is 10,000. Now, 10,000+ 10,000 = 20,000, which is greater than 18,500. So, we can never get a sum 18,500 here.

(f) 87,645 - 32,519 = 55,126. It is less than 56,503.

(g) 10,257 - 380 = 9,877. It is a 4-digit difference.

(h) 12469 - 4,358 = 8,111. It is a 4-digit difference.

(i) 98,695 - 97,782 = 913. It is a 3-digit difference.

(j) Largest 5-digit number is 99,999 and least 5-digit number is 10,000. Now, 99,999 - 10,000 = 89,999, which is not equal to 91,500. So, we can never get 91,500 here. No.
