Find the areas of the following parallelograms: Class 8

Solution:

Area of parallelogram (i)

= 7 × 4 = 28 sq. cm;

Area of parallelogram (ii)

= 5 × 3 = 15 sq. cm;

Area of parallelogram (iii)

= 5 × 4.8 = 24 sq. cm;

Area of parallelogram (iv)

= 2 × 4.4 = 8.8 sq. cm.

Question 2.

Find QN. Class 8

Solution:

Area of parallelogram PQRS

= SR × QM = 12 × 6

= 72 sq.cm

Also, area of parallelogram PQRS

= PS × QN

= 7.6 × QN

So, 7.6 QN = 72

or QN = [latex]\frac{72}{7.6}[/latex] = [latex]\frac{720}{76}[/latex] cm = [latex]\frac{180}{19}[/latex] cm
