Solution:

Number of pencils = 84000 × 25

= 84000 × [latex]\frac{100}{4}[/latex] = 21000 × 100 = 21,00,000.

Question 3.

If each floor of a building is 4 metres high and it has 250 floors, then find the height of the building.

Solution:

Height of the building = 4 × 250 metres

= 4 × [latex]\frac{1000}{4}[/latex] × 1000 = 1000 metres.

Question 4.

A school collects ₹ 250 from each student for a charity show. If the number of students is 1280, then find the total amount collected for the show.

Solution:

Total amount = ₹ 1280 × 250

= ₹ 1280 × [latex]\frac{1000}{4}[/latex]

= ₹ 320 × 1000

= ₹ 320000.

Write forty two million six hundred six thousand seven hundred sixty five in both (i) Indian system and (ii) American system.
