Question 1.
Puzzle time Class 6

I am a 5-digit palindrome. I am an odd number.
My 't' digit is double of my ‘u' digit. My 'h' digit is double of my 't' digit. Who am I?
Solution:
As the number is an odd number. My 'u' digit can be 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.
As 't' digit is double of 'u' digit; so ‘u' digit cannot be 5, 7 or 9. It can be only 1 or 3.
If 'u' digit is 3, 't' digit will be 6. But 'h' digit is double of 't' digit. So, ‘u' digit cannot be 3, because 2 × 6 = 12. Hence, 'u' digit can only be 1. So, 't' digit will be 2 and 'h' digit will be 4.
Hence, I am 12421. In words, I am twelve thousand four hundred twenty one.
Question 2.
Carry out these same steps with a few 3-digit numbers. What number will start repeating? Class 6
Solution:
Let us take the number 734.
A = 743 and B = 347.
So, A — B = C = 743 — 347 = 396.
Now, new A = 963 and B = 369.
So, new C = 963 — 369 = 594.
Now, new A= 954 and B = 459.
So, new C = 954 — 459 = 495.
Thus, number 495 will start repeating.
