How did early humans live?

Early humans lived in bands or groups. They required shelter and food. For the food, they collected edible plants and fruits and relied on hunting. They were mainly hunters and gatherers. For shelter, these groups lived in temporary camps, rock shelters, or caves. They learnt to use fire, cultivation, and the domestication of animals. This led them to settle down near rivers.
