The post-Maurya era is called the era of reorganisation because, after the fall of the Maurya Empire, the existing regions were being reorganised into new kingdoms. They were constantly competing to become powerful. The map of India changed significantly in that age, as did people's lives. The new kingdoms which emerged were Indo-Greeks, Shakas, Kushanas, Shungas, Satavahanas, Chedis and many tributary under the ownership of the Mauryan empire.
