Solution:

2x - 13 = 3 ⇒ 2x = 3 + 13

Find the solution of equation 3x = 12.

Solution:

3x = 12 ⇒ x = [latex]\frac{12}{3}[/latex] = 4.

Find the top number of the bottom row of a number pyramid.

Solution:

So, the top number is 25.


Question 4.

Find the difference of product of diagonal number of a 2 × 2 calender grid.

Solution:

2 × 2 grid is

a + 7a + 8


So, required difference

= (a + 1) (a + 7) - a (a + 8)

= a² + a + 7a + 7 - a² - 8a

= a² + 8a + 7 - a² - 8a

= 7


Question 5.

Check whether the top number of the bottom row formed by three consecutive Virahanka-Fibonacci numbers 3, 5 and 8 is the fifth Virahanka-Fibonacci number or not.

Solution:

We have the required number pyramid as

The Virahanka-Fibonacci numbers are

1, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34

Here, 21 is the 6th Virahanka-Fibonacci number.

Hence, it is not a 5th such number.
