Distance between first and the last sapling
= 3 × [latex]\frac {3}{4}[/latex]m = [latex]\frac {3}{1}[/latex] × [latex]\frac {3}{4}[/latex]m
= [latex]\frac{3 \times 3}{1 \times 4}[/latex]m = [latex]\frac {9}{4}[/latex]m = 2[latex]\frac {1}{4}[/latex]m

Which is heavier: [latex]\frac {12}{15}[/latex] of 500 grams or [latex]\frac {3}{20}[/latex] of 4 kg? Class 7
Solution:
[latex]\frac {12}{15}[/latex] of 500 grams = [latex]\frac {12}{15}[/latex] × 500 grams
= [latex]\frac {4}{5}[/latex] × 500 grams
= 4 × 100 grams
= 400 grams
[latex]\frac {3}{20}[/latex] of 4 kg = [latex]\frac {3}{20}[/latex] × 4
= [latex]\frac {3}{20}[/latex] × 4000
= 3 × 200 grams
= 600 grams
Also, 600 grams > 400 grams, so [latex]\frac {3}{20}[/latex] of 4 kg is heavier.
