Find the profit percentage of the wholesaler and the manufacturer. Class 8
Question 1.
Find the profit percentage of the wholesaler and the manufacturer. Class 8
Solution:
Wholesaler : C.P. = ₹ 253
S .P. = ₹ 300
So, Profit = ₹ (300 - 253)
= ₹ 47
Hence, profit% = [latex]\frac{47}{253}[/latex] × 100
= 18.6% (approx.)
Manufacturer : C.P. = ₹ 230
S ,P. = ₹ 253
Profit = ₹253 - ₹ 230
= ₹ 23
So, profit% = [latex]\frac{23}{230}[/latex] × 100
= 10%
Question 2.
Shambhavi owns a stationery shop. She procures 200 page notebooks at ₹ 36 per book. She sells them with a profit margin of 20%. Find the selling price. Class 8
Solution:
C.P. = 200 x ₹ 36 = ₹ 7200
Profit = 20% of ₹ 7200
= [latex]\frac{20}{100}[/latex] × ₹ 7200 = ₹ 1440.
So, S.P. = ₹ 7200 + ₹ 1440 = ₹ 8640.
