Activity 8.7: Let us investigate

  1. Take water in a small cap of a bottle (you may use sanitiser in place of water).
  2. Take the same amount of water in a plate. The exposed area of water in the bottle cap and the plate are different.
  3. Keep both of them near each other.
  4. Record the time taken for the water to completely evaporate in each case in Table 8.4.

Table 8.4 : Findings of the investigation

Answer:

Exposed area of waterTime taken for complete evaporation
Less (bottle cap)More
More (plate)Less

Students can record their observations in this table :

Container used for storageTime at which water/ sanitizer is pouredTime at which water/ sanitizer evaporate completelyTotal time taken
Bottle cap_________________________________
Plate_________________________________

Question 2.

What did we change in this investigation? Class 6

Answer:

We changed the shape of the container in which liquid is taken for observation.

Question 3.

What did we measure? Class 6
