1. Magnetic compass : A device with magnetised needle, which can rotate freely indicating North-South direction.

2. Magnet : Attracts iron, nickel, cobalt.

3. Magnetite : A natural magnet.

4. North pole : The end of a freely suspended magnet that points towards North direction.

5. South pole : The end of a freely suspended magnet that points towards South direction.
