Solution:
Length of the plot
= w + g + 2w + g + w
= (2g + 4w) ft.
and its breadth
= w + g + w
= (2w + g) ft.
So, area to be tiled
= (2g + 4w) (2w + g) - g² - g²
= 4gw + 2g² + 8w² + 4gw - 2g²
= 8w² + 8gw.
